Grade 1 (Easy):
Grade 1 is considered to be the easy and short trekking in the Himalayas normally trekking in below 4000 m. The trekkers need to walk between five to seven hours a day and ascend ups and downs, sometimes the temperature drops down to zero; therefore, good health condition and level of fitness are essential. Poon hill trekking, Everest view trekking, and Helambu trekking etc.
Grade 2 (Moderate):
This grade’s trekking is considered to be the moderate one especially above 4000m. The trekkers need to walk between five to seven hours a day and ascend ups and downs, sometimes the temperature drops down to zero, the trekkers also have to pass alike desert. Therefore, good health condition and level of fitness are essential. Annapurna base camp trekking, Jomsom Muktinath trekking, and upper mustang trekking etc.
Grade 3 (Difficult):
This type of trekking is organized especially above the 5000 m. It takes more than 12 days, the trekkers need to walk between four to eight hours a day, including in the high altitude areas, passing above 5000m. The weather generally drops down to zero, often, trekkers need to spend the night in difficult and freezing temperature, so it is quite difficult one, thus, good health condition and level of fitness are the most. Everest base camp trekking and Annapurna circuit trekking etc.
Grade 4 (Challenging):
This grade’s trekking is considered to be the most adventure, especially in the high altitude areas. Therefore, the good health and the physical fitness is the most, besides the experience or the knowledge relating to mountaineering is the required to, because, the grade’s trekking is organized especially above 6,000 m height and more than two weeks duration.
