Annapurna region trekking is a famous region in Nepal. This region situated in western part of Nepal. Annapurna conservation area is the first and the largest conservation area in Nepal. Annapurna conservation area covered 7629 square kilometer land. ACAP was launched in 1986. The area ranges in altitude from 790 m to the peak of Annapurna I at 8,091 m Manang, Mustang, Kaski, Myagdi, and Lamjung districts. And 55 villages covering the Annapurna region. ACAP is rich in biodiversity and is a treasure house for 1,226 species of flowering plants, 102 mammals, 474 birds, 39 reptiles and 22 amphibians.

With a trekking circuit from mid hills to the foothills of the Himalayas, this is the most visited trekking area in the mountain region. There are several features that make the Annapurna region a unique place in the world. It contains world’s deepest river gorge - Kali Gandaki Gorge, which is 3 miles long and 1.5 miles wide, a valley with fossils from the Tethys Sea dating 60 million years ago. The region contains world’s largest rhododendron forest in Ghorepani. Tilicho Lake located in Manang – north of Annapurna massif, is the world’s highest altitude freshwater lake.
